As we reenter the fray after a month’s break, problems are approached with much more confidence. It may not be increased knowledge about what to do, but more of a increased comfort with the risks and past experiences of dealing with consequences. With a greater trust with colleagues and clients, many actions are reversible with good relationship management.
That reminds me of discussing similar issues with a good friend years ago, while working together managing a project. ‘As long as the PR is good, you can fix anything.’ In a sense, that still holds true today. Healthy relationships enable much to be done, even if it is at the expense of the other party. Enough has been deposited in the emotional bank account to tolerate that withdrawal.
That is not to say withdrawal is the only intention of relationships. Just interaction with certain people is enough to bring joy to life. What better way to bring joy into endeavour than through such satisfying relationships?
Then again, they are tricky things to manage. With poor care and control, the relationship can be broken with a few thoughtless words and actions. There has been many a time when I shot my mouth off and offended a number of people, many of these I regret from the lack of thought over my actions.
I should probably be cautious of what I write here, even while the fingers are moving across the keyboard of their own volition. Such intuitive expression is still key in improving quality of thought. As words are laid onto the page. the mind becomes less muddled, and begins to hone an edge. An edge to cut across chaos and mystery for clarity.
